Velocity-dependent J-factors for annihilation radiation from cosmological simulations

چکیده
We determine the dark matter pair-wise relative velocity distribution in a set of Milky Way-like halos Auriga and APOSTLE simulations. Focusing on smooth halo component, is well-described by Maxwell-Boltzmann over nearly all radii halo. explore implications for velocity-dependent annihilation, focusing four models which scale as different powers velocity: Sommerfeld, s-wave, p-wave, d-wave models. show that J-factors moments distribution, halo-to-halo scatter largest d-wave, smallest Sommerfeld The J-factor strongly correlated with density halo, very weakly dispersion. This implies if Way can be robustly determined, one accurately predict annihilation signal, without need to identify Galaxy.

Velocity Based Feature Extraction of Multistreaming Events in Cosmological Simulations
Multistreaming events are of great interest to astrophysics because they are associated with the formation of large scale structures (LSS) such as halos, filaments and sheets. Until recently, these events were studied using scalar density field only. In this paper, we present a new approach that takes into account the velocity field information in finding these multistreaming events. Six differ...
متن کاملCoherent pion radiation from nucleon-antinucleon annihilation.
A unified picture of nucleon antinucleon annihilation into pions emerges from a classical description of the pion wave produced in annihilation and the subsequent quantization of that wave as a coherent state. When the constraints of energy-momentum and iso-spin conservation are imposed on the coherent state, the pion number distribution and charge ratios are found to be in excellent agreement ...
متن کاملCosmological Constraints from Galaxy Cluster Velocity Statistics
Future microwave sky surveys will have the sensitivity to detect the kinematic Sunyaev-Zeldovich signal from moving galaxy clusters, thus providing a direct measurement of their line-of-sight peculiar velocity. We show that cluster peculiar velocity statistics applied to foreseeable surveys will put significant constraints on fundamental cosmological parameters. We consider three statistical qu...
متن کاملDark matter annihilation at cosmological redshifts: possible relic signal from weakly interacting massive particles annihilation
We discuss the possibility to observe the products of dark matter annihilation that was going on in the early Universe. Of all the particles that could be generated by this process we consider only photons, as they are both uncharged and easily detectable. The earlier the Universe was, the higher the dark matter concentration n and the annihilation rate (proportional to n) were. However, the em...
متن کاملSimulation techniques for cosmological simulations
Modern cosmological observations allow us to study in great detail the evolution and history of the large scale structure hierarchy. The fundamental problem of accurate constraints on the cosmological parameters, within a given cosmological model, requires precise modelling of the observed structure. In this paper we briefly review the current most effective techniques of large scale structure ...
